treatment for varicocele

Does inguino-scrotal hernia cause varicocele?

The Inguinal hernia occasionally can cause compression of the spermatic veins and cause its swelling which is not varicocele.

Varicoceles are caused by backflow of blood into these veins either as resulting from lack of or defective venous valves or sheer volume of blood refluxing back into the veins.

In fact what is done to correct this is to cut off this back flow by varicocele embolization or ligating the spermatic vein –essentially simulating what is caused by an impinging hernia. Venous blood will then flow via. Come other routes.

What I have observed occasional engorged spermatic veins during hernia repair but these usually resolve spontaneously after the procedure. They are often clinically of no concern.
